Welcome to Tidings. Tidings is made and independently maintained by an individual developer, not a company or staffed organization. By downloading, purchasing, or using the app, you agree to the terms below.

Eligibility

You must have the legal capacity to accept these terms. Users below the age of independent consent where they live must use the app with a guardian's permission and guidance. The app can display open-web content from feeds chosen by the user, so its App Store age rating is not a guarantee that every feed is suitable for every age.

License & scope of use

We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use Tidings as an RSS reader: subscribing to feeds, reading articles, categorizing and searching, importing / exporting OPML, and managing local settings. Please don't use the app for anything that violates applicable law or infringes others' rights.

Free features & AI features

• Free features: core reading capabilities such as RSS subscriptions, reading, categorizing, search, OPML import / export, and local settings.
• AI features (translation, summaries, AI Radar / daily briefings, asking AI questions, article chat, and custom AI provider settings) and iCloud Sync are Pro capabilities.
• Using AI features requires you to bring your own OpenAI-compatible provider and API key. The corresponding usage and costs are settled directly between you and the provider you choose. Tidings doesn't collect or pay on your behalf and provides no built-in model.

Content ownership

The articles and content presented through your RSS subscriptions are copyrighted by their original authors or source sites. Tidings only fetches and presents them according to your subscriptions and claims no rights over this content. Please use it within the limits allowed by the original authors and sources.

Purchases, auto-renewal & refunds

Pro is available as an auto-renewing yearly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. The price, currency, trial, or promotion, if any, is the offer shown by the App Store when you buy. A yearly subscription renews automatically unless canceled through your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends; Apple charges renewal under its rules. Lifetime unlocks app entitlement restorable for the purchasing Apple ID and does not include third-party AI usage.

Apple handles payment, subscription management, Family Sharing eligibility (if applicable), and refunds under App Store policy. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. You may restore purchases in the app, and refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple.

Third-party services & links

Feeds, article sites, Apple services, iCloud, and the AI provider you configure are operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies. You are responsible for having the right to send content to your provider and for its usage charges. Tidings does not control those services or their availability.

Acceptable use

Do not use Tidings to infringe intellectual property or privacy, bypass access controls, distribute malware, interfere with the app or third-party services, or engage in unlawful activity. We may restrict affected functionality when required by law or necessary to protect the app and its users.

Apple Standard End User License Agreement

When you obtain Tidings through the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also applies. These Terms supplement it for product features, AI, content, and purchases. If they conflict, the applicable Apple Standard EULA and mandatory law control.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

AI-generated translations, summaries, and answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. Please verify and judge for yourself, and don't treat them as a substitute for professional advice. RSS content comes from third-party sources, and Tidings likewise doesn't guarantee its accuracy, timeliness, or availability.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tidings is provided "as is," and we're not liable for any loss arising from using or being unable to use the app, or from relying on AI output.

Governing law & general terms

Except where mandatory consumer law in your location provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Please first try to resolve disputes through the support email; unresolved disputes may be brought before a court with jurisdiction where the individual developer resides. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective, and delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver.

Changes & termination

We may update these terms from time to time; for significant changes we'll update the "Last updated" date on this page. If you don't agree to the updated terms, please stop using the app. You can also uninstall and stop using Tidings at any time.
