New Pro highlights and notes let you return to the original context, alongside a fix for refreshing some large feeds.
With Pro, select text to add a thought, highlight it in one of five soft colors, or choose Ask AI to discuss the passage.
Find Notes below Favorites. Select a note to show the original article and jump to its highlight, then open the full thought to read, edit, or change its color.
Notes, highlights, and a saved copy of the article remain available after clearing the cache. Export all notes as Markdown from the top of the list, including quotes, thoughts, and article links.
Fixed failures when adding or refreshing some RSS feeds with many entries or long articles.

Audio RSS feeds now open in a dedicated Audio view, with playback in the article or compact player, 15-second skipping, speed controls, and episode downloads.
Reorder content views in Settings, hide the ones you do not use, and find Audio enabled by default.
Single-feed imports now identify article, image, video, or audio content, show clear processing feedback, and take you to the matching view.
Opening an unread article now keeps it in the current list. Read items are filtered again only when you change the view, feed, or another list scope.
Startup and scheduled refreshes no longer show progress or make the list flicker, while manual refreshes and imports keep clear feedback.

Tidings now uses the article content and image addresses returned by FreshRSS, without re-extracting signed-in content from the original website.

This release fixes a FreshRSS account display control that could be pushed outside its settings card at some window widths.
The “Show only this remote account” switch now stays inside the settings card, so it can be turned off, on, and saved even in narrower windows.

This release lets FreshRSS work as your sole library, makes refreshes, connection status, and images more reliable, and adds automatic themes and a more flexible unread filter.
When one FreshRSS account is shown on its own, the sidebar displays its categories and feeds directly. Adding, importing, and managing subscriptions all apply to that account.
Even when the local list is empty, Refresh now brings in categories, feeds, and articles added through the FreshRSS web interface.
A successful connection stays green. It turns orange when FreshRSS cannot be reached and returns to green after communication recovers, instead of unexpectedly going gray.
Large images and content resolved through your signed-in FreshRSS setup now appear faster and more reliably while reading.
Unread-only mode can hide categories and feeds with no unread articles. Appearance now follows the system by default, with Light and Dark still available.

Tidings Pro can now connect to FreshRSS and sync subscriptions, categories, read status, and Saved Articles, with clearer imports, account removal, and refresh behavior.

When adding subscriptions or importing OPML, choose explicitly between Local and FreshRSS so content always goes to the intended account.
Removing a FreshRSS account clears its cached content from the library. When only Local content remains, the interface returns to the simpler Local experience.
Saved Articles now shows everything you saved without inheriting the unread-only filter from another category.
Syncing or refreshing feeds keeps your place in the current article, while anything you read during the refresh is still marked as read correctly.

This release adds global search and feed navigation, improves article shortcuts and Saved Articles, and makes everyday actions clearer.
Press ⌘G or click the search icon to search your local library by feed or article title and open a result immediately.
Use the article menu or press ⌘J to view every article from its feed. Double-clicking an article opens the original in your browser.
Open, save, and read shortcuts now work reliably in article details. Save defaults to ⌘D, menus show the active shortcut, and E opens Edit Feed.
Saved Articles hides unread summaries, unread-only filtering, and bulk read actions. Titles stay clear and no longer show unread dots.
The category collapse button now uses a clearer icon that is easier to distinguish from Close.

This release refines Dock unread badges, long category menus, view switching in Low Usage mode, and disk cleanup after updates.
Turn Dock unread status off, or choose compact counts, exact counts, or a subtle red dot. Compact counts remain the default.

This release adds complete category controls, improves Linux.do posts and replies, and introduces an immersive image viewer with zoom and pan.
Rename or remove categories, move their feeds to another view, remove their category, or send them to the default category. The same actions are available from the sidebar context menu.
Categories now start collapsed after launch and OPML import. A new button beside Add Feed collapses the current view, and Settings can make feeds expanded by default instead.
Linux.do posts, replies, and emoji images now render more naturally. Reply fetching retries more carefully when requests are limited, while keeping the post readable if replies are temporarily unavailable.
Opening an article that only has a summary now fetches its full text even if it is already read. View Original also handles failed embedded pages more reliably.
Click an image in an article or reply to open a centered, proportional full-window preview. Zoom and pan freely, with a close button that responds reliably across its full circular target.
Version 1.1.8
This release reduces resource use during large refreshes and improves feed discovery, legacy text encodings, WeChat originals, OPML imports, and failed-feed refreshes.
Balanced is now the default to reduce CPU use during refreshes. You can also choose Low Usage for steadier operation or Performance for maximum speed.
When you add a homepage, section, or article page, Tidings can discover its declared RSS, Atom, or JSON Feed. Legacy text encodings and more community feeds now display and refresh correctly too.
If WeChat blocks or cannot display an original page inside Tidings, it is handed to your default browser sooner. Misleading buttons that cannot open the exact article have also been removed.
After OPML parsing succeeds, the dialog closes while refresh continues in the background, and the completion notice uses green, orange, or red based on the result. Empty failed feeds now stay selected instead of opening AI Radar.
The sample title that briefly appeared at startup is gone, and refresh tips for long feed names no longer get clipped by the list edge.

This release adds focused refreshes and improves network proxy compatibility, RSSHub alternatives, article images, and software updates.
Tidings refreshes only the selected feed or category. All feeds are refreshed from All, Favorites, or AI Radar, while automatic background refreshes still cover your full library.
Feeds, article images, and community replies now consistently use the same network proxy environment, reducing cases where only part of an article loads.
When an RSSHub feed is unavailable, Tidings checks public alternatives listed in the official documentation and asks before switching. The feed title and address stay aligned after replacement.
Repeated images at the start or end of an article are removed, light and dark variants follow your theme, and the first article opens immediately after switching feeds or categories.
Tidings waits for background work before installing. If installation does not start, the downloaded update remains ready to retry, and Data settings can show sanitized logs from the last three days.

Tidings now prioritizes images near your current reading position and responds immediately when you switch articles, while covers continue loading in the background.
